I was looking at your website and I found a picture of my parents barn. I live in PA, their barn is MPB 38-05-09. I am trying to find a way to sell their barn for them, it is in need of repair and they don't have the time and money to repair it. So I am going to try to find someone to buy it, hopefully tear it down and rebuild it elsewhere. Anyone interested or if you know soneone who may be interested in a Mail Pouch Barn, please contact me.

You have created a wonderful web site. The pictures are beautiful. I used your information to plan a Covered Bridge trip north from Marietta on Rt. 26 in Washington County and into Monroe County for our Sr. Church Group. We visited 5 of the bridges.

This is a Great website, I love your photos of barns, especially the round barn in Clark County, Ohio. I sent you a photo of my parents' barn near Enon, Ohio. In 1996 I convinced my father to paint Dole 1996 on his barn, then Taft in 1998, and in 2000 it was painted with Enon's official Sesquicentennial logo.

I love your website, my grandfather painted all of the Jefferson Island Salt barns in the south backin the 50s.

I hope more people get interested in the preservation of these old memories.

Keep up the great work...

WOW! What awesome pictures. I was not particularly "into" barns but after seeing your beautiful pictures, I am now! I want to make a quilt of all of the Ohio barns. This must be alot of work to get all these barns. Thank you for doing all the work as this is the only way I, and alot of other people, will ever get a chance to see these barns. Thank you very much.

Love this web site! Have been all over the internet trying to find pictures like these and just recently ran across your site. My great Grandfather chewed on Mail pouch tobacco everyday when he worked his garden and lived to be 92 years old. It is a very fond memory of him and I'm always looking to find new pictures for memories sake. Your site is wonderful, please keep up the great work you do here and I'll definetly check back often.

I am only coming for a couple of days, and want to maximize my efforts. Please feel free to email me with any help or opinions!

We found this website from a float decorated to represent the Bicen. Ohio sign in the Pemberville, Ohio parade. The back of the float was decorated and included this website. I should have taken a picture - it might have been something for your website! We can't remember who or what group did it - except it was in the Pemberville, Ohio parade this past Saturday!

I hope we can see all the Bicen. barns! It makes traveling Ohio fun when we spot them. And looking more at the website, we will have more to look for and appreciate in this great state!

Hi Mike et al,

Just completing a weeklong trip through WV, OH, and PA. Passed a bunch of MPBs and photographed a few of them. I'm surprised to see some of them are not posted here yet. When I get home, I'll figure out which you don't have and send them along for posting.

BTW, although we live in the same area, I am no relation to William Ashley Cooper. I feel like my exclusive claim to finding Eastern PA barns is gone now, and I'll have to work more diligently in finding them. Love the new features on the site, especially Cyber County

What beautiful work! Your wife has been a good influence. I wish that you would concentrate on Lighthouses. There are a whole bunch in NC. In fact your current work is getting boring. Barns & Cover Bridge's are not very interesting. Barns are like a pretty girl - If you seen one you've seen em all. I will make you a deal. If you come to NC and concentrate on Lighthouses - we will give a place to stay. One condition - you bring your hot wife(TT), monopoly board, risk, & pizza. Let me know what you think?

15 August 2002 - Is Waldo?????????

Webmaster comments: - Personally, I still like looking at pretty girls Porter, you must be a bit older than me! Plan on October 18 & 19. I'll bring Nanc and Monopoly - you buy the pizza.

Hi again,

I got kicked out of the barn before I could get my e-mail affress and personal website typed in. On my main webpage you can find and icon to click on called, "Mansions, Gardens, and Mail Pouch Barns." This will get you to pages that explore my interests in all three items listed. Just click on the Mail Pouch photo to get to my gallery of Eastern Pennsylvania Barns including the Layton, NJ country store sign.

William Ashley Cooper

It's great to find your site and especially find the Mail Pouch listings that you,ve posted so far. Some of the barns in eastern Pennsylvania were known to me and others are a great resource to go and photograph. That's just what my friend Brian Beltz and I did. He got me into the Mail Pouch enthusiam while on some of our road trips doing rollercoasters and amusement parks. Since I had the computer and began researching Mail Pouch info from last summer I was able to expand much knowledge and lore about the Mail Pouch mistique. I'll send you some new found info from our area and update on some others.

thanks again for putting a great posting place for Mail Pouch Barn locations. Hope I can add locations if and when I find them.

I'm delighted to see the beautiful photos of some of Ohio' barns. When I lived in Ohio(total of 18 yrs)and I always enjoyed driving through farm country and noticing the differences and beauty of the Ohio barns. Once I took an art course at Wright State w/ Ray Must and I wanted to make etchings of some of the Ohio barns. Since this was the first etching course I had ever taken, Ray advised me not to do it since it was he thought a graduate project.

Thank you for making this web page, El summers

You have some fantastic Photos and and the maps are a nice touch too ! I was surprised to see some of your photos...1 of them I had painted a mural of many years ago. The Glad Creek Mill was a favorite of an elder couple I know and they asked me to paint it on thier wall about 18 years ago. Up until now, I never knew the name of the old mill. Thank You !!! You can view an old photo of the mural at my web site ( http://www.ricksart.net/Sawmill.html ) if you'd like.

Thanks for sharing all of your photos. I've added a couple links to your site on my site.

Thanks again,

i just found your page it is great, i was looking at your photos and i am impressed. i have been taking pictures of barns for almost 30 years now and as i looked at yours i realized that i didn't see any duplicates of the ones i had. if i ever figure out how to enter and send pictures i will send some of my better ones to you. my biggest problem is that i didn't atke time to write down location information on most of mine so you may not be interested in them. it's getting late i will check back later to see more of your photos. thanks for sharing

I have been following Scott Hagan across Ohio for the past 3 years, taking photographs, as he paints the Ohio Bicentennial logo on barns in all 88 counties of Ohio. Your site has made me curious about other barns as well. I'll finish the full 88 by this September. Thanks for initiating me to other possibilities once I am finished.
