This fascinating landmark was built in the 1950's as part of a half completed Frontier Village shopping center.  The Gas station remained in operation until 1988.  The boots are about 20 feet high and have been totally refurbished in July of 2006.  The Hat is still being refurbished and the brim of the hat is 40 feet wide!  They were moved to Oxbow Park in December of 2003 where they remain today.
