AKA - Heathcote's Mill, Gladfelter's
Mill
Stream - south branch of Codorus Creek
The first mill was built by William Heathcote in
1837 as a woolen mill. Heathcote then built a
bigger mill and sold the old one to Philip Sheffer
who converted it to a grist mill in 1852.
Isreal Gladfelter installed rollers in 1886.
Operations ceased c. 1979.
