AKA - Rome - Built - c1775 by Moravians, 42X60, 2.5 stone mill.
From records of the Moravian Church the first grist mill was of log built by the Moravian brothern in 1756. A fire in 1775 destroyed the mill and a new 3 story stone mill was immediately built. When the new mill was built it was laid out by the cardinal points of the compass, hence the name Compass Mill. The mill was vacant in 1969 and was an antique furniture store in 1994. Today it is used for storage and still has some mill equipment inside. Condition - Good
