Built - c1812 by Samuel Hawthorn, 50X40, 3.5,
stone mill.

AKA - Green Valley Mill, Sides' Mill
|
|
|
The first mill was built c1727 by Samuel Taylor.
The mill closed in 1936 after an accident killed
owner Aldus Sides. This mill was unusual in that
the mill was attached to the mill house. A fire in
1998 destroyed most of the mill. The house part of
the mill is in good condition. An older lady owns
the mill now. She gave adjacent land to a group of
men for a gun club. In return these men look after
the mill property and refurbished the mill house
after the fire. The mill was attached where the
white (yellow) siding is in the bottom picture.
Condition - Fair
