Built - c1852 by Chrisitan Rohrer, 40X100, 3.5, brick Mill. - The mill is still in operation by water power today.

The first mill on this site was a small 1.5 story mill. Christiam then replaced this mill c1852 with a brick mill. The mill was enlarged in 1879. The mill was also used to produce electricity at one time. In one picture you can see two electrical wires running from the mill to the white tower. From the tower the electricity would then be sent out to other buildings on the complex.

There is a very nice mill race and pond. -They presently sell wheat and corn products. Their biggest consumer is a rather large local meat company.

There is also a saw mill on sight that does not presently run, but all parts are there. Also there is another nice size pond, building and equipment that was once used to cut and store ice in the mill's early years.

This is not the only workable mill in Lancaster Co., but it may be the only one that is working using water power to grind grains.
